January 5, 2008 For Immediate Release: CONTACT: Robert Kane, Media Relations Marlborough Sports Partnership Telephone: 508-579-0658 Marlborough Sports Partnership Conducts First Sports Event Marlborough, MA, - December 29, 2008 - The Marlborough Sports Partnership joined with the Marlborough Boys Basketball Team for their first city wide event. Metrowest students ranging from grades three - eight participated in a Hot Shot Shooting and Free Throw Competition at the Marlborough Middle School. The event also included a basketball clinic led by Marlborough High School Boy's Varsity Coach Ilya Nicholas. Volunteers included members of the Junior Varsity Basketball Team along with Marlborough boy's basketball alumni. It was great to kick off MSP's first event with such an enthusiastic group of participants. We look forward to a number of upcoming MSP events in 2009. We thank Coach Nicholas and the Marlborough Junior Varsity Basketball team for their participation," said MSP President Robert Katz. Marlborough Sports Partnership recently received approval as a 501 c3 non-profit organization. The MSP provides programs to encourage participation and achievement in any of the many and various sports. Its mission is to establish the City of Marlborough as a regional center of excellence for youth, adult, club, high school, civic sports activities.
